Contract Game Scripter
The Game Scripter will leverage proven skills architecting and implementing scripted game projects, specifically in Action script 2.0 and/or LUA paired with a strong sense of solid software design. The qualified candidate will have experience working with all disciplines; working closely with programmers to create new game play features and closely with designers to help provision and craft their ideas. We foster a highly collaborative working environment where you can both express your skills and learn from industry veterans. The full-time contract programming position will start as soon as we find the right candidate and continue for next 2-3 months while working a high profile game in partnership with a top-tier publisher. You’ll be involved in creating a great game as part of great team for a great publisher using state-of-the-art techniques!
Key Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity and desire to work within an “agile” development environment (scrum).
- Prior experience creating a variety of game-play systems within Action Script 2.0 or LUA.
- Experience working with other game engines using C/C++ and other scripting languages is ideal.
- A desire to work within most areas of game play development; game systems, game features and content authoring solutions, GUI and UI programming.
- Strong software design sense paired with an eye for creating robust and optimized code.
- Experience finding the right balance between scripting & native code programming.
- Experience and desire to work with flash authoring tools (Flash CS3).
Qualifications:
- Essential programming experience working with Action Script 2.0 or LUA is a must.
- Professional experience in a similar role is a bonus
- Excellent communication, time-management & organizational skills
- Task driven, self-motivated & proactive
- Actively pursues and accepts direction
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal abilities
- A desire to work with programmer and non-programmer disciplines in order to create a highly original and compelling experience!
